Coat: Only, Mittens: HEMA, Scarf: made by Sanne, Cardigan: H&M,
Dress: self-made, Shoes: DinSko
Three new items in this outfit. First, the lovely parka coat I got as an early birthday present from D's mother. She had bought it for me while I was in Amsterdam. The weather has gotten a lot colder here and all my thick winter coats are in Finland so I was truly elated to receive such a lovely thick coat to keep me warm. The second new item is the mittens. D's mother got them for me as well, to go with the coat and to keep my hands warm. She had considered getting leather gloves, but she thought that mittens with a polar fleece lining would be better for my freezing little paws. Needless to say I was extremely happy with the gift, especially because all my gloves and mittens are still in Finland.
The third new item is a story on its own, and here I have to thank D's mother again. I have been wanting to take up sewing for ages, and finally I managed to find an easy sewing pattern for beginners. So I bought some fabric and other sewing things (very professional and accurate, I know) for a loose-fitting dress, but the dress would still be just fabric lying around in my closet if it wasn't for D's mother who took the time and energy to help me to make the dress. I think it turned out very well, and I've been wearing it a lot lately. If you'd like me to make a more specific post about the dress and how it came to be, let me know in the comment box!
D took these pictures on Sunday two weeks ago. It was such a grey and rainy weather, and right after we were done taking pictures, it started raining. I thought that the old harbour in Hoorn would serve well as a backdrop so there we went. I love harbours, and the one in Hoorn is extremely pretty. I couldn't stand living far away from water, coming from the land of thousand lakes. A little walk by IJsselmeer, even in the chilly weather, with D and a camera was a really good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Now it's time for me to get a cup of tea and my knitting project and watch one episode of ER before going to bed. I hope everyone has had a great weekend, because I certainly did. On Saturday I went to the Open Day at AMFI and Hogeschool van Amsterdam, but more about that later...

APUAAAA!
Mulla itse asiassa valittaa samasta asiasta...
DeleteThank you so much! I'll check out your blog!
