Those who have been following me for the past weeks, might've noticed that I've taken up knitting. I'm currently knitting a woollen jersey, but I'm constantly gathering inspiration for my next project. And since a picture says more than a thousand words, I gathered a knitting inspiration board for you.
Oversized knits, traditional patterns and neutral and feminine colours are currently getting me excited. When knitting, I like to choose a good quality yarn and a relatively timeless pattern, because considering how much work knitting is, it's only logical to make sure that the finished product is worn more than once.
Besides, knitting is relaxing and very satisfactory. There's just something about making things with your own two hands.
Love your inspiration board! The scene of Audrey Hepburn knitting in Breakfast at Tiffanys has always been a fave.
ReplyDeleteI recently got my knitting needles out again. It is that time of year to be cosy on the sofa and knit to your hearts content.
Can't wait to see your finished jersey!
Big love!

I'm so glad you like the board! ♥
DeleteMy jersey is almost done, I only have to finish the other sleeve and the collar and then sew everything together.. Once it's done, I'll make sure to post pictures ;)
Mulla on työn alla vaikka ja mitä neulosta. Seuraavaksi aion toteuttaa itsekin villapaidan!
DeleteLove this board! If I only knew how to knit! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Knitting is quite easy, youtube is a great source for tutorials ;)
Deletethat so great! I must buy some sweaters:)

Thanks, and knitting is quite easy, you should give it a try ;)
DeleteSo did you just start learning how to knit or are you picking it up again? I can't believe you're already working on sweaters!
ReplyDeleteI'm picking it up again, I was taught to knit when I was 8-9-years-old and I have been knitting on and off ever since... not that I'm very good at it, but lately I have gotten interested in it again, and hopefully improved too :D
DeleteSweaters aren't even that difficult... I find socks much more complicated, at least the heel part ;)
Ihana postaus ja blogi, piti lukea istumalta läpi :D.
ReplyDeleteVoi kiitos, taisi tulla aika pitkä istuma ♥
DeleteWat een leuke inspiratie. Het lijkt met heel relaxed om te doen, maar wel moeilijk. Maar ik vind het altijd zo leuk om die mooie wol te zien. Is gewoon prachtig.
That sounds like a great hobby and quite useful, too. I've heard it is a very calming, relaxing activity. How did you learn to do it?

Knitting is indeed a great hobby :)
DeleteI was taught to knit when I was 8-9 years old, at school, but I was never very good at it. My grandmother has also taught me, with a lot more success than the teacher, and now I can go ask for help at a local wool boutique. People think it's very difficult but if you have the right instructions and the right yarn, knitting is very easy, and relaxing... I usually knit while watching films and tv-series, and also on the bus and the train, even during lessons :D
It feels good to know that you do knitting ! My mom and aunts know knitting and they have made sweaters for me but I myself do not know much knitting, I can make only a muffler :))
ReplyDeleteThe photos you shared here are inspirational, particularly Audrey Hepburn with her knitting yarns.
P.S: I love your look from your previous post -that outfit is cute.
A muffler is a good start :) Sweaters sound complicated but they are actually quite simple and relaxing to do... sure they take a lot of time but I don't mind spending my evenings knitting and watching tv-series ;)
DeleteAnd thank you so much ♥
I love knitting too though I haven't picked up the needles since forever! Your post inspires me! :)
ReplyDeleteWould you like to follow each other? Let me know if you do and I would love to follow back.

It's really the best way to spend an evening in front of the tv/laptop :)
DeleteI would love to take up knitting! I haven't done it in so many years, but it's so relaxing! Thanks for your inspirational post :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, I hope you'll manage to find your knitting needles again ;)
DeleteTääkin on meillä yhteistä ;) Tälläkin puolella ruutua on neulomista rakastava likka! Vielä kun jostain kaivais ajan neulomiselle... No, ehkä sitten jouluna. On kyl loistava inspiraatio noi kuvat, tykkäilen :)
ReplyDeleteApua meillä on kyllä ihan älyttömästi yhteistä ♥
DeleteMä oon huomannut, että elokuvaillat yms. on loistavaa neulomisaikaa, leffa pyörimään ja puikot heilumaan ;D

ReplyDeleteKnitting is really great, you should give it a try! :)

Knitting is really quite easy, give it a try! :)
Deletelove oversized knit but I was never good at knitting. The finish product always come out with holes in it!! Would love to see your completed knit :)
ReplyDeleteang-closet365.blogspot.ca
I'll post pictures of the knit once it's finished :) And the holes are the result of dropping a loop, you must keep an eye on those little things ;)
DeleteLove your knitting inspiration board! What app do you use?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I used Photoshop, Polyvore is okay as well... But I just like to play around with Photoshop :D
DeleteIf you don't have Photoshop, Gimp is a good free alternative ;)
DeleteI wish I could starting knitting too. I love knits. Hope you finish it as soon as possible so we can see the result!
ReplyDeletexx
I'll try to finish it soon :D
DeleteI love knits! How I wish I can do them. xx
ReplyDeletehttp://rosalindatj.blogspot.com
Maybe I'll make a post with links to easy knitting teaching videos :)
DeleteHey Senja! It's been a while! I'm glad to reconnect with your fabulous blog :)
ReplyDeleteI do love knits, but I have no patience to do it myself, mainly because I'm not very good at it. I guess I'm much more of a crochet person, but I admit needlework has something insanely relaxing. I think it's scientifically proven somewhere. Or maybe not. But you know :)
